To John and Bill O'Keefe,
So sorry to hear that your mom passed away. I just arrived at Meredith's today and heard the sad news. I'll always remember her laugh and how she fiercely supported and defended you two. I think of you boys often and know you have many memories of your mom and dad.

One of the things I remember most about Susan was her laugh. She had a great laugh. Nothing held back. And that was Susan nothing held back.
Susan's love for and pride in John, Bill, her Grandchildren, and Jerry was insurmountable.
Susan had presence.. Her passing has left a void in Glastonbury and Noank. The people she taught will talk about her for years to come. The Little Red Library will never be the same.
Susan was a woman of faith. She has received her just reward in being reunited with Jerry.

Mrs. O’Keefe was my 6th grade math teacher and we remained friendly some 40 years later. She filled our class with laughter, stories of Harriet the cat and yes, we learned some math concepts along the way. We had teaching in common and would often swap stories. Every time I came home to Glastonbury I was bound to run into her at church or in town. Mrs. O’Keefe was a gem! Her smile, laughter and stories will remain in my heart. I am richer for having known her. My deepest condolences to boys and their families.

I have so many hilarious memories of Susan. The years we shared in the GHS Press Box were always memorable. We just goofed on each other and laughed. She will be impossible to replace as my blind spotter at the games. The Glastonbury community has lost one of the best they ever had,
Partner: I will miss you forever. Godspeed Sue. You were and are still loved!

To all the family, condolences on your loss. May you smile in remembrance of her stories, and her laughter.
Will miss our W/O corned beef dinner and "Dump Dessert" whether at Noank or Meadow Hill, the evenings were a hoot; we'd laugh for days to come.

Dear , dear Okeefe family,
So very saddened by the news of Susan’s passing.
She was a beloved neighbor and friend in Noank.
Her effervescence and love of life manifested in her smile, her garden, home , gatherings , love of family and friends , students and always engaging stories.
I believe one of her most valued gifts to each of us was living her life as her authentic self and finding ways always to put into action her deep belief in human kindness, compassion and service to her community.
A light this bright does not go out. Her loving energy will continue to be with us, inspire us and remind us how healing a good sense of humor is.
With deep love and honoring, Sky

Mrs O’Keefe was by far be of the best and most influential substitute teachers I ever had at Glastonbury High School. She was one of the most kind, caring and knowledgeable individual I have ever met. I am a lot more prepared for life just having some of her wisdom she shared with me in the classroom. To the family I am very sorry for your loss. -Dylan Bassette

To the O'Keefe Family ~~ I am so very sad to hear of Sue's passing. She was a much-loved neighbor of ours, always energetic and ebullient. She was generous and welcoming, interesting and full of fun. I know this is a huge loss for your family and I am holding you in a warm and sacred space.
The Celts believed that the veil between the worlds is thin and that beloved family and friends who have gone to the other side of the veil are beside us, even while having left their bodies behind. They are still with us - no longer in form. One thing we know is that the love we feel is real and I believe it continues to flow both from us and to us.
We are supporting you as you do the difficult work of grieving, which I hope will gently soften, and that an abundance of memories fills your hearts.
Much love, big hugs,
Noreen

Among her many strengths, Susan's love and care for others had a way of making each of us feel special. She always asked about my children and remembered highlights of her teaching moments with them. She will be missed by many, especially at Little Red.
