Obituary of Robert M. Shepard

Robert M. Shepard, 75, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Virginia (Madden) Shepard, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. Born September 27, 1936 in Waterbury, CT., son of the late Martin and Helene (Driscoll) Shepard, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 36 years. He owned and was the Administrator of Middlesex Convalescent Center in Middletown from 1975 until 2002. Bob graduated from Fairfield University, received his MBA from NYU and a degree in nursing from the University of Bridgeport. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wethersfield Country Club. Besides his wife he is survived by his 3 children and their spouses; Patricia Shepard Quinn and Robert Quinn of Glastonbury, Katherine Shepard Dugan and Patrick Dugan of West Hartford, David M. and Alice Shepard of Seattle, WA, a brother John Shepard and his wife Judith of MD, and 9 grandchildren; John, Edward, Patrick and Charles Quinn; Grace, Bridget and Erin Dugan; and James and Mary Shepard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday Nov. 15, from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Michael J.
