Janet Spaulding posted a condolence

When I first joined Country Gardeners, Ruth was one of the first to warmly welcome me. She was always the kindest soul, who would step in to help us with projects for the Town of Glastonbury and make the effort fun. Her floral arrangements were stunning but also always a lesson for people like me, who tried but didn’t have that special eye for design. I will always treasure my memories of time with Ruth and think of her beautiful smile, which her family so lovingly shared here once again.
Condolences to her family—

Imagine having fun at 7am in the morning. Well, count on Ruth to make it fun! We joined Betsy McCullough to refresh and water the flower designs at The Hartford Flower Show when it was at the Civic Center.

Ruth and I were at Russell Sage College together. We both lived in Sage Hall for two years and she was always a smiling delight to know. She was extra smart in her academics and was popular with all who knew her. I also knew her as a National Council Flower Show Judge here in CT. where again, everyone enjoyed knowing her and she was always a smiling help on whatever needed to be done. I am sorry she had to suffer with Pancreatic cancer and I will miss her at our garden club activities.
