So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember riding in a hay wagon one Fall and the look on Irene’s smiling face while she watched Lou sing “Irene, Good Night”. It is a sweet memory and a reminder that they are now together again. Rest in peace, Irene.

The O’Beirne Family posted a condolence
Saturday, February 11, 2023
Kathy, Kelly, David, Kevin, John, Christina, John, Michelle, and family: our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mom, grandmother and mother in law. Irene was an incredible woman who touched so many hearts. We hope it will comfort you to know that we share in your loss of such a wonderful woman. She always was so grateful, caring and loving person. We received her last thank you note on January 12th of 2023. Irene was so happy to enjoy Christmas with kathy. She talked about the beautiful decorations kathy did for her when she returned home from the hospital. We always remember how especial Irene was when she visited Teresita’s mom in a nursing home. She always wanted to help and supported us. She sent us several encourage note cards that touched our hearts. Especially when Teresita’s mom passed away. We are grateful of kathy when she moved to Seattle because of this we knew her loving parents. We know our God will keep Irene in his holy glory and beside Lou too. Sending love and prayers your way. With our deepest sympathy. God bless all of you at this time of sorrow. Paul, Teresita, Paula, Andres, and Alejandro O’Beirne

John, Kathy and Kevin,
It was with much sadness that we learned of your mom’s passing. We’re sorry we can’t be with you in person for her service, since we are away from Connecticut until May, but know that we will be with you in spirit.
Your mom was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by us and so many others. We came to know your mom and dad when we moved into the Autumn Lane community in 2007 and have many fond memories of reminiscing with them about Glastonbury as it was in the past and was evolving in the present. Your mom and dad had such warm and welcoming personalities that when we visited with them, it was always comfortable and relaxed and we felt like we were at home.
As a nurse, your mom was always ready to help us understand any medical issues we were dealing with and would offer words of encouragement that always made us feel better. For me (George), it was like being with my mom who was also a nurse.
We frequently went with your mom and dad to Matson Hill Community Club events where they introduced us to their circle of friends and made us feel at home among that wonderful group of long time Glastonbury families.
We know your mom was enjoying her new life in Vero Beach and that her passing will be a great loss to that community as it is to ours. We are comforted to know that she and your dad will be together once more and that the memories of their many years together will live on through you, your children and the other members of your family.
With love,
George and Phyllis Ripley
