Obituary of Irene C. Preli
Irene (Cattaneo) Preli 84, of Vero Beach FL, formerly of Glastonbury CT, loving wife of the late Louis Preli of 57 years, passed away, Monday, February 6, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. She was a Glastonbury CT resident for 42 years and the proud and loving mom of her three children: John Preli, Katherine Cody and Kevin Preli. Besides her three children the additional loves of her life were her four grandchildren, Michelle and John Preli and Kelly and David Cody. She graduated from the NY Medical College School of Nursing in 1959 as a registered nurse. She loved her nursing career and all her patients. Her greatest joys were spending time with family, baking, cooking, playing games, gardening, and attending all the sports games her family played in, which were many. She loved shelling with Lou on Grand Maria Island, FL; traveling to the Reefs in Bermuda as well as Ferrieri Italy to explore the Preli family heritage; her Wednesday Card Group “The Knockers” in Glastonbury and playing games with her new crew at Regency Park in Vero Beach. Her family will always be close to her heart in eternity.
Irene is survived by her 3 children: John and his wife Christine, Katherine, and Kevin; her grandchildren; Michelle and John Preli; Kelly and David Cody; her brother in law Allan Preli and his wife Kathie, nieces Tracie and husband Rory Derwin, Gina and husband Matthew Grisham and grandnieces Abby and Zoe Grisham; nieces Kathy McIntyre and Patti Croft as well as nephews and nieces in Tennessee.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday February 13, 2023 at 11:00 am in SS. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Paul Church 2577 Main Street Glastonbury, CT 06033.
