I am so sorry for your loss. I've known David since Kindergarten and he was a really great guy. He was thoughtful and would always check in to see how I and others were doing. I just wish he and Dori were able to come up to NH, where I live for a visit, we always talked about it. Next time I'm in N Conway I'll be thinking of him

I was deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I played hockey with him for many years, and we all knew him simply, and phonetically, as "Chokus." Chokus was a good teammate and a good player, and I was always happy to see him walk through the locker room door. I remember one game I had a hat trick; Chokus had missed that game, and he was so excited for me when he heard about it, and very bummed that he had missed it. That speaks to his supportive character and him being a good teammate. Addiction is a terrible, terrible disease, and I'm so sorry that Chokus suffered so much from it. Rest in peace, my old teammate, and may you be gliding across an immaculate sheet of ice right now.

Steve, thank you for this special memory and your kind words. David loved, loved hockey! I have a special short one-minute video of him skating solo one evening at an outdoor rink in Norwalk where he had been living a year ago. If you see this note and would like to see it, please email me at kciolk508@gmail.com

To David’s family, I am heartbroken for your loss. I didn’t know Dave really well, but I did know him for a long time. I remember him being just a wonderful, kind person. There was a long period of time, several years ago, where he would frequently just say something incredibly sweet and uplifting to me on social media. It always brightened my day. I’m sorry for the pain he was in and for his struggles, which I knew nothing about. I pray that he is at peace now and that in time you will be, too. All of my love, sympathy, and prayers. Christine Ryan

Christine, I appreciate your kind note and lighting a candle in his memory. Life will never be the same as we are feeling this great loss. I believe with the love and support, hearing good memories, and by the grace of God that we will be sustained and peace will one day overshadow the grief.

My fondest memory of David was his smile, his easy going nature. His smart brain. Always learning new things. Always active. Loved hockey. My husband taught him the slap shot one Christmas when our family was over his house on Fulton drive. Hense he was practicing, hense the broken windows. He would come by over the years to see us and would sit and watch Hockey with Tom. They both loved it.
To his mother and father, I grieve along with you for no parent should have to go through this loss.

To all who knew and loved David.....
This truly brings the expression "life is short" to true meaning.....David's life was cut way to short at a time in his life were he was in a good place...at a time in his life when he was chasing his dreams and fulfilling his inspirations.
David has earned his place
To be among his angels.
Remember David....hold him in your heart....do not weep...remember him and he will live on..
Live on your heart forever.

I remember the first time I met David. I was dating his Cousin Brad and he came over that night and they sat at the kitchen table for hours playing music. My favorite time when they were together is the night they decided to play every album of Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young and sang word for word, not always good but they knew all the words. David had a one of a kind personality and laugh. I like him for the start. I hope he’s in Heaven with his best friend Brad smiling down at us listening to all there favorite songs together. David please give Brad and Patrick a giant hug for me as I miss them , I will miss you as well
