Obituary of Richard Skiba

Richard M. Skiba, 62, of Glastonbury, beloved husband for 41 years to Ruth (Schwarm) Skiba, died Tuesday December 6, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Born December 21, 1948 in Hartford, son of Marie (Pagliughi) Skiba of Clearwater, FL. and the late Michael J. Skiba, he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. Dick was an accountant at Ironwood Capital in Avon for the past 10 years and had been an accountant for Arbor Acres in Glastonbury for 32 years. He was a member of the Glastonbury Lions Club for the past 34 years, was a past president and secretary and was the treasurer of the club for many years. He received the Melvin Jones Fellow award from International Lions in 1996. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by 2 daughters, Annmarie Skiba and her fiancé David Perazzoli of Clearwater, FL, Tricia Caron and her husband Jonathan of Glastonbury, his sister Donna Canopari of Clearwater, FL, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Caron, Ryan Dunne and Abigail Caron, 2 nieces Gina Canopari, Lisa Papuga and her husband John and a grandnephew Andrew Papuga, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 10 at 11am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday Dec. 9, from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Glastonbury Lions Club, P.O.
