Obituary of Joyce Miglietta

Joyce E. (Cicchetti) Miglietta, 68, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Irvin J. Miglietta, died Tuesday April 22, 2014. Born November 21, 1945 in Hopedale, MA, daughter of the late Michael and Virginia (Moore) Cicchetti and daughter-in-law of the late Irvin J. and Carmel (Toscano) Miglietta Sr. She lived in Glastonbury for the past 40 years. Throughout her life, Joyce adored her family, friends, cooking and traveling and got endless pleasure when she could combine all of these passions together. One of her biggest joys was vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine with her family each summer. She was educated at Hopedale, MA and Russell Sage College and began her career as a fashion buyer for G. Fox and Company in Hartford, CT. After years as a stay at home Mom, Joyce returned to the business world as a real estate agent at Merrill Lynch. She was loyal to the same company for 28 years as it changed to Prudential CT Realty and just recently to Berkshire Hathaway. Her husband and daughter joined her in the business 10 years ago and The Miglietta Team was such a source of pride to her. Joyce's clients were like family and she truly touched everyone she knew with her kindness, honesty and attention to detail. She also loved the arts and was a member of the Wadsworth Atheneum, and was on the boards of the Welles Turner Second Century Fund and the Greater Hartford Literacy Volunteers. She was also a member of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Britt Miglietta and her husband Michael Schatz of Glastonbury and two grandchildren -the lights of her life - Grady Joseph and Kellen Michael, who loved their Ammy so very much. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 25 at 10am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Thursday April 24 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to March of Dimes CT, 500 Winding Brook Drive, Glastonbury, CT 06033, Attn: Grady, Kellen & Ammy's Gaggle or by visiting http://www.marchforbabies.org/brittmig The entire family will be walking in the March of Dimes walk this coming Sunday to honor her legacy and her love for her grandchildren who benefitted from this wonderful organization.
