I am having such a difficult time dealing with not coming up for the funeral. I know you all understand, but I have now missed all the funerals since Guido's. The only good thing is that I envision them all laughing or smiling; not in a casket. I left CT last September with a very heavy heart. Uncle Santo told me he had had enough and when our eyes met as I was leaving, we both knew it was for the last time. Spending the first years of my life living with all of them was so special. That was when I knew Uncle Santo was unique. He seemed to quietly keep them all in line. I believe that is why he was last to leave us, he was always "keeping an eye on" his siblings. The year before last he took me down to his workshop and let me choose a lantern. I told him I couldn't leave without one for MaryGrace, he just laughed and gave me another one. So that is how I will remember him....laughing in his workshop. They tell me a "herd" of deer crossed in front of the hearse at the cemetery.....almost sounds like the rest of the family "came" to take him home. I will miss him and will never forget him.

Dear Rich, Kathy and family, We are saddened for you on the recent death of your beloved father and grandfather, Santo. Judging from the obituary, he led a full and productive life. The photograph in the newspaper reflects a kind face, so we hope that you have many warm memories to ease you through your sorrow. He helped raise a gentle and upstanding son in you, Rich. May you find comfort in one another's support, and may you carry the best of him in your hearts. We send our sympathy, Hilary (Meyers) & Harry (Weinerman)

We are deeply saddened by the news of Santo's passing. We are unable to make the services, but our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We have not been in Connecticut for a while, so we have only pleasant memories of him, when he was well. Susie/Pete
