Obituary of Santo Susca

Santo Vito Susca, 86, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Mary (Civitillo) Susca, died Saturday February 28, 2015 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. Born December 16, 1928 in Hartford, son of the late Pietro and Nicoletta (Lacitignola) Susca, he lived in Hartford for over 40 years and moved to Glastonbury in 1996. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Drum during the Korean War. For 40 years prior to his retirement, he was a journeyman sheet metal worker for SMW Local #40, proficient in all facets of the trade and specializing in architectural metal work. Santo was a Life Member of the East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons and two daughters in law: Michael and Debra Susca of Portland, Paul Susca of Concord, NH, Richard and Kathleen Susca of Tolland, seven grandchildren, Gabriel, Carolyn, Rien, Nicole, Matthew, David and Jennifer and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and a sister: Jim, Tom, Frank, Guido, John and Aurelia. Funeral service will be Saturday March 7 at 10am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday March 6 from 4-7pm.
