Dear Mr. Milich, Helen, John, Bob and Sam, As I am writing this it is just 10am on Monday morning. I am thinking of you all and hoping that the service at St. Augustine's is not only a time of comfort in sorrow for the passing of your Mom, but also a time of celebration for a life well lived! I so wish I were there with you all. No matter the age or situation, the loss of a mother leaves an emptiness that cannot be explained. Over the years it will be replaced by memories and the knowledge that all the great qualities your Mom held now live on in you. YOU will keep her memory alive! I really enjoyed reading Rob's Ledgewood Drive memories. Here are some of my own...at least the ones that I would consider printable! Sledding - our trail started at the top of the Willsey's yard, ran down behind your house, behind the Hahn's house and then through the woods. After many cold hours of up and down that hill our mom's were always ready with the hot cocoa. In the summer we spent many hours catching tadpoles and turtles as well as poison ivy in the little creeks around the neighborhood. Who could forget all that skunk cabbage. The only bad part of the summer for me was that you would be up at that darn country club all day Sam. I would have to wait all day long, always with one eye on your garage door - waiting for that station wagon to pull in! Then the kick-the-can games would start up. They would finally wrap up when we heard "the bell" and had to reluctantly drag ourselves home. Well, there are so many more memories and funny stories to tell. Remember Christmas morning Sam. After we opened our gifts we would spend the rest of the day running back and forth admiring our loot and playing with all our toys. What a great childhood we had. How blessed we were to have mom's who loved us enough to dedicate their lives to us. We are who we are because of them! Deanie was so much a part of my childhood. I always knew she was looking out for me. She taught me many lessons... always oil the back of the furniture as well as the part you see, she sat for many hours on your sofa with me teaching me to do all sorts of embroidery and crewel work,oh, and the chocolate chip cookies - the best around! I remember my mom sent me over to your house to watch her make those cookies but still, her cookies came out the best. So thanks to our mom's- Deanie, Flo and Peggy - all in heaven now, just sitting down for a hot cup of tea. Thank you Deanie. Thanks for loving us!

Joe, Helen, John, Bob and Sandy: I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Deanie. I wanted to let you know I was thinking of you all at this time of loss. This has brought back fond memories from long ago of living next door to you all on Ledgewood Drive. I remember spending lots of time at your house playing with Bob and Sandy -- there always seemed to be a lot of fun activity going on! There was 1x1 basketball with Bob, touch football, watching the Giants on tv, playing catch or playing kick-the-can on a warm summer evening. Those were fun years. Joe, I also remember playing many games of golf with you over the years -- I always enjoyed that. Deanie was also very nice to us and always welcomed us into her home. Again, our thoughts are with you all and the rest of your family. Peace. Rob Willsey
