Obituary of Donald A. Robbins

Donald A. Robbins, 72, of Charlestown, RI, beloved husband of the late Patricia (Fuller) Robbins, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was born on September 18, 1943 in Blandford, MA to the late Leonard and Elsie (Schmalenberg) Robbins. Don was an engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 35 years where he holds several patents. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, walking on the beach, and sailing. Don is survived by his children Chris Robbins and his wife Lisa of South Windsor, Melissa Strange and her husband Glenn of South Glastonbury, Jeff Robbins and his wife Kathy of South Kingstown, RI, his grandchildren Kevin, Ashley, Kyle, Christopher, Michael, Hannah, Jack, Tristan, Piper, and his brothers Lenny and Jimmy. He also leaves behind many cherished friends at the beaches in Quonnie, RI and Fort Pierce, FL. As per Don’s wishes, services will be private.
