So truly Sad to hear…. I worked with Don over a 11 year period...I have never made business decisions based on a Rep, Always Product and Price. Don was the only exception I ever made because of my fondness for him as a person, straight shooter, business partner and solver of EVERY problem I ever had. One of the Best!!! Jeff Carlson

Such sad news. The entire Schmitt family was more than just our neighbors over the many, joyful years on Dana Lane in South Meriden. Lots of fond memories.... and then later on Don was my boss for a period of time at MISC diner in Wallingford where he was a whiz on the grill, calm when the rush crowds came and more importantly knew his customers. And those famous muffins which made their way in photos around the world. And I experienced first hand how much he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events which included sitting in the midst of the student cheering section. Great man who I'm sure will sorely be missed. But may the loving memories carry you through this hard time. Love always, Shari Marie (Gill) DiDomenico
