Obituary of Paul E. Bertrand

Paul E. Bertrand, 91, of South Windsor passed away peacefully on Sunday (October 15 2017).  Born in St. Victor, Quebec, Canada he was the son of the late Philias and Pauline (Mathieu) Bertrand.  He immigrated to the United States in 1946 and later became a U.S. citizen in 1966. He lived most recently in South Windsor and prior to that he lived in Manchester, Glastonbury and West Hartford. Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years Eliette Bertrand. To cherish fond memories of his life he leaves behind his son Steven and his wife Martha and their children Sheila, Austin and Cole of Manchester. A daughter Maureen and her husband Stephen St. Amand and their sons Zachary, Tyler and Luke of South Windsor. And a son Carl of Manchester.  He found happiness in his life through his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pepe”. He also loved playing golf whenever he got a chance to play. Paul was predeceased by his brothers Hector, Lucien and Viatuer, all of Quebec. He is survived by his brothers Patrice of Newington, Gerard and his wife Lorraine, Jean Louis and his wife Jocelyn and their families all from Quebec. Also his three sisters, Claudette and her husband Marcel Drouin of East Hartford. Alice and her husband Marcel Labonville, Jeannette and her husband Claude Poulin and their families all from Quebec. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.  Paul and his brother Patrice owned Central Drywall which they operated for many years together. Paul was also a member of the Franam Club which was near and dear to his heart. Friends and family may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 5 – 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Dunstan, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury.  In memory and in celebration of Paul’s life, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
